
The business needed a way to assign third party training - whether a webinar, recording, or other format - to employees to track completion internally within our Learning Management System.

Although registration and completion of the training operated on an honor system, I implemented controls that ensured employees received the required information while still encouraging active participation. These included:

Because the project required a single course to handle both registration and completion tracking, I designed a specific user experience: the course would close on a “thank you, goodbye” screen, and upon resuming, reopen on a “welcome back” screen.
Achieving this was particularly challenging due to how Storyline communicates with the LMS and manages saved states. However, by using variables, multi‑states, hidden layers, and two days of troubleshooting, I was able to make it work.
