Dashboard tutorial video

Hey, the client meeting is tomorrow morning

High urgency. Half day turn around. The builder meeting with the managing director is tomorrow. We need a video tutorial on the reporting dashboard for our external clients.

I started with nothing but a subject matter expert. We spent 15 minutes outlining the content and mapping the walkthrough, followed by a 15‑minute screen‑recording session of the dashboard. He had a checklist of key points to cover, and I coached him to speak naturally and describe each feature as we moved through the interface.

After recording, I separated the audio and pulled a transcript using Descript. I ran that transcript through Copilot to generate a simplified narration, which got me most of the way there, but I rewrote and refined the script where needed. Once finalized, I brought the narration into Audiate to produce the text‑to‑speech voice.

The general rule of thumb is one hour of editing per minute of finished video, and it held true here. The final tutorial runs three minutes, and I completed the entire project -from recording to script writing to final editing - in about 4.5 hours. The tutorial was featured in the builder meeting and has since been permanently added to the dashboard as a training reference.
