A greener Houston; How do we get there? The Coalition for Houston Outdoor Places is a forum of 18+ existing organizations in the city of Houston who are dedicated to the preservation and creation of Houston green spaces and related objectives. They needed a logo to showcase their partnership with each other and with the local government. The visual needed to highlight their unified dedication to the city of Houston and making it a beautiful city.
I drew inspiration from various public green spaces in Houston, and from the shared values of the coalition, to conceptualize multiple potential logo designs. I worked with several business leaders of the organizations to identify the visual elements important to the coalition, and refine the design.
The final design references a bridge in an iconic Houston garden with over 100 years of history of the culture and development of the city, and represents the pathway to a greener Houston. The linework pulls from multiple points in the graphic into one singular location -- like how the many organizations come together for a united purpose.
